Join this virtual Immigration Law gathering on April 21, as part of our Innovate Legal series of practice area e-meetups.

These online events will give you the chance to connect with others in your field to discuss strategies for navigating the unique challenges and restrictions that COVID-19 is presenting for legal professionals like yourself.

Each meetup will feature an expert panel, who will share best practices on how to approach the obstacles in your industry, as well as include a Q&A session where participants can ask questions and share their own experiences. Having had nearly a decade of experience in tech and the legal field, Emma knows both the needs of companies and lawyers alike. She’s spoken on many occasions about law firm marketing, legal entrepreneurship, law firm growth, and cloud technology and security. Being a JD herself who previously founded her own attorney recruiting company, Emma is passionate about helping firms grow from the ground up, and knows firsthand the struggles involved in building a business.
Emma joined Clio in 2018 as a result of the acquisition of Lexicata, a legal-tech software company, and also worked in Silicon Valley for tech startups and for an international law firm previously. She can be reached at [email protected], and is based in Los Angeles, CA.

Greg McLawsen is an immigration lawyer devoted to bringing creativity to the practice of law. Greg is the managing attorney of Sound Immigration (www.soundimmigration.com), an online law firm helping couples and families build new lives in the United States. He is also the managing attorney of Immigration Support Advocates (www.i-864.net), which helps vulnerable immigrants gain self-sufficiency by enforcing their rights under the Form I-864, Affidavit of Support. Greg writes frequently on issues relating to substantive law, legal ethics and technology. Based in Seattle, Greg’s cloud-based law firms allow him to work frequently from abroad.

He practiced immigration law as an attorney for over 15 years and is an expert in the field, teaching continuing education courses on immigration law to lawyers. Before founding Docketwise, James was a private practitioner and did pro bono defense of asylum seekers.
