1. How To Participate

ClioDay Contest (“Contest”) is sponsored by Themis Solutions Inc. DBA Clio (“Sponsor”).

1.1 Eligibility:

The Contest is limited to all residents of Canada (excluding Quebec), the 50 United States and the District of Columbia (excluding Rhode Island, Alaska & Puerto Rico), the United Kingdom, and Ireland who have reached the age of majority at the time of entry, except employees or agents (and those with whom they are domiciled) of the Sponsor and/or the Contest judges. Contest is void in excluded provinces/states and where prohibited by law.

1.2 Entry:

To enter the Contest and be eligible for a Prize, Entrants will receive one (1) entry when completing any of the following activities:

1) Upload a video to Youtube detailing what you would do with an extra eight hours per week (“ClioDay”) and enter the link in the ClioDay Contest registration webpage, located at Alternately, entrants may email their video submissions to [email protected] and we’ll do the heavy lifting for you. (File size limit: 10 MB)

2) ‘Like’ Sponsor on Facebook and share on our page what a Clio Day means to you.

3) Follow Sponsor on Twitter and tweet about what you’d do with an extra day each week with the #ClioDay hashtag.

4) Subscribe to the Youtube channel at

1.3 Contest Period:

Starting on 12:00 a.m., Pacific Time, March 26, 2014 to 11:59 p.m., Pacific Time, May 31, 2014. (“Contest Period”)

* Contest starting separately in New York and Florida on April 14, 2014.

1.4 Contest Entry Restrictions:

Anyone using multiple identities to enter will be found ineligible and disqualified. Use of any automated system to enter, or otherwise participate in this Contest is prohibited and will automatically result in disqualification.

In the event an entrant publishes inappropriate content, he or she will be disqualified.

Inappropriate content will be any content that is:

  • Is vulgar, contains improper language, nudity, etc.
  • Is derogatory, hateful, or racist;
  • Violates another person’s commercial property rights;
  • Violates another individual’s privacy or publicity rights;
  • Was taken by a professional videographer without their express, written consent for their material to be used in the Contest.

Sponsor will be the sole authority on what material is deemed inappropriate, with full and total discretion to deem any submitted content inappropriate.

1.5 Awarding of Prize:

The Prize will be awarded by random draw of the participants who have posted their entries within the eligibility period.

2. Prize

2.1 Prize:

There will be one (1) prize awarded during the Contest:

  • Grand Prize - $10,000 (Ten Thousand United States Dollars) to be awarded to the winning entry.
  • The winner will also be given complimentary access to the following services for variable periods. Complimentary access of these services is not deemed to have cash value for the purposes of this Contest.
  • Clio, free access for one year;
  • Fastcase, free access for one year;
  • NetDocuments, free access to a Professional Edition account for one year;
  • Fujitsu, the donation of one (1) iX500 Scanner;
  • Curo Legal, a complimentary Best Practices and Technology Asessment followed by a Strategic Technology Plan and a 10% discount on all Curo Legal services purchased in the subsequent year;
  • Box, free access to an Enterprise account for one year.
  • Solo Practice University, complimentary access to courses for one year.
  • Jurispage, one free year of website hosting.

Each Prize must be accepted as awarded. No cash alternatives, substitution or transfers of the Prize will be allowed. The Prize will be forwarded to the winner within four (4) to six (6) weeks from the date when the winner’s signed Declaration and Release Form is received by the Sponsor.

For purposes of complimentary access to services, the time period of one year will be calculated from the activation date of the service, provided such activation occurs within thirty (30) days after receipt of the Prize. If a service is not activated within thirty (30) days after receipt of the prize, complimentary access to the service will be deemed to be started on July 15, 2014.

For purposes of complimentary access to services, service providers may limit the number of users granted complimentary access to the service. The minimum number of users for each complimentary service will be one (1) user, but the maximum number of users is to be set by each service provider at their discretion.

2.2 Odds:

The odds of being randomly selected to win a Prize depend on the total number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period.

2.3 Prize Draw:

The Prize will be awarded by random computer generated draw from all eligible Contest entries received during the applicable Contest Period, the draw to be held at 3:00 pm at 4611 Canada Way, Burnaby, BC V5G 4X7 on the following date (“Draw”):

  • June 2, 2014;
2.4 Selection of Prize Winners:

Entries received via Twitter, Facebook, or Google’s Services shall be deemed to be submitted by the authorized account holder of the Twitter account associated with the entry. For purposes of these Contest Rules (“Rules”), "authorized account holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned to a Twitter account by Twitter. Each potential winner may be required to provide the Sponsor with proof he/she is the authorized account holder of the Twitter account associated with a winning entry.

2.5 Notification of Selection:

The selected winner will be contacted by phone or mail (using the contact information provided by entrant at time of entering the Contest at least three (3) times within the fourteen (14) days after the Draw. If the selected Entrant cannot be contacted in that time, another Entrant will be randomly selected and the initial selected Entrant will be disqualified and will have no recourse towards the Sponsor or anyone involved in the Contest. In order to win, the selected Entrant will be required to sign a standard Declaration and Release Form confirming compliance with the Contest Rules, acceptance of the Prize as awarded and releasing from all liability relating to the Contest. No substitution for, or transfer of the Prize, will be allowed. The selected entrant will have seven (7) days from the date of receipt to return a signed copy of the Declaration and Release Form to Themis Solutions Inc. or its representative. If the selected Entrant does not do so within this period of time, another Entrant will be randomly selected and the initial selected Entrant will be disqualified and will have no recourse towards the Sponsor or anyone involved in the Contest.

3. General Rules


Each Prize claim is subject to verification by Themis Solutions Inc. and/or its designated representatives. Entries made with multiple addresses, under multiple identities, or through the use of any device or artifice to enter multiple times or entries that are in excess of the permitted number of entries during the Contest period are automatically void. All Contest entries obtained through unauthorized sources or which are incomplete, illegible, mutilated, altered, reproduced, forged, irregular or fraudulent in any way or otherwise not in compliance with these Rules are automatically void. Themis Solutions Inc. will be the sole and final reference source in validating a Prize claim.


By participating, each Entrant and selected winner agrees: (a) to be bound by these Rules and the decisions of Themis Solutions Inc., (b) to release and hold harmless Themis Solutions Inc., its affiliates, subsidiaries, and independent contractors, and their respective directors, officers, employees, agents and representatives including advertising and promotion agencies, and those companies providing complimentary access to their services as part of the Prize, from any and all liability for claims/damages including, but not limited to, claims/damages for personal injury, for property damage with respect to acceptance, possession or use or misuse of the Prize or participation in the Contest; (c) to permit Themis Solutions Inc. to use his/her name, address, city, province, of residence, photograph, video, or any likeness for advertising or publicity purposes without any additional compensation and (d) the winner agrees to sign a Declaration and Release Form to this effect.


The decisions of Themis Solutions Inc. in relation to this Contest will be final and binding on all entrants.

3.4 Internet:

The Sponsor assume no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries. Sponsor and/or its agents are not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or telephone lines, computer on-line systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any entry to be received by Sponsor on account of technical problems, human error or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Web site, or any combination thereof, including any damage to participant’s or any other person’s computer and other property relating to or resulting from participation in this Contest or from downloading any materials related to this Contest.


Themis Solutions Inc. reserves the right to cancel, terminate, or suspend this Contest, at its sole discretion, in the event of a technical failure, computer virus or bug, unauthorized human intervention, fraud or any other occurrence or cause beyond its control that corrupts or adversely affects the administration, security, fairness or normal operation of the Contest.


If a selected entrant is awarded the Prize due to a system error, malfunction or defect the Prize will be returned to the Prize pool, to be re-awarded.


Under no circumstances will Themis Solutions Inc., its affiliates, subsidiaries, and independent contractors, and their respective directors, officers, employees, and agents, including advertising and promotion agencies be required to award more Prizes than what is indicated in these Rules or award the Prizes other than in accordance with these Rules.

By entering this Contest, each Entrant consents to the collection, use, and disclosure, by Sponsor, of his or her personal information including full name (first and last), contact information (limited to, city & state), video and online submissions made in the course of this contest, likeness, and digital photograph for the promotion of this Contest, and announcement of winners and full name (first and last), and contact information (street address, city, state/province & zip/postal code) for the awarding & delivery of a Prize; and for market and consumer research purposes.


The Contest is subject to all Federal, Provincial and local State laws, as well as the rules adopted in view of said laws.
